DoubleTree by Hilton Tuzla was my first project with the Hilton Group; as Lead Designer at Hande Tözün Interior Design Studio I worked on the lobby, reception, bar, restaurant, meeting rooms and spa areas. That project also showed why a hotel programme here must be structured differently from a classic city hotel: because occupancy comes from industry and airport traffic, meeting capacity and flexible check-in move to the front. Proximity to metal and joinery fabricators operating at shipyard scale is a further advantage, raising the quality of bespoke elements in hotel and office work.
